This image I created a while back, about the same time Sin City came out, I loved the mix of black and white with shots of colour and I had recently created a full colour 2d image of an old fashioned looking girl, which I liked, but thought it was lacking any real punch so played around with contrast and use of red’s blues, yellows etc inspired by what I had seen in Sin City.
Initially when I threw all the red down on the image I thought it was way too strong, but after a while of working on it I grew to really like the contrast in it, and thought the red was quite striking. I wanted to get a sense of beauty, but also to have the girl to have a look of power about her, to be inviting, but make you wary at the same time. Any comments / crits, more that welcome.
